John McCaffrey is President & Chief Operating Officer of BirchStreet Systems, bringing over 30 years of experience driving growth and operational excellence across enterprise technology businesses. He has a proven track record of scaling high-performing organizations, spanning software, cloud services, and payments. John’s leadership spans go-to-market strategy, customer success, and operational transformation, with particular expertise in SaaS platforms and enterprise technology. Previously, he served as COO at Compeat, Inc., where he transformed operations and customer success in response to the COVID pandemic, and as Senior Vice President at Virtustream, where he drove the company’s relationship with IBM to launch a global cloud partnership with SAP. He also held senior leadership roles at Clarus Systems, Adjoined Consulting, and US WEST Communications, and served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. John holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, a MA from Boston University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University.
